PERU RESERVED AREAS

The reserved areas have condition to be declared Protected Natural Areas, but, in this case the first ones need to be studied to determine their extensions and categories.

The Reserved Areas are: Pantanos de villa, Tambopata Candamo, Apurimac, Rio Rimac, Manu
 

The Reserved Area of Tambopata Candamo

Tambopata Candamo 9D/8N Tours

This Reserved area is located in the departments of Madre de Dios (Province of Tambopata) and Puno (Provinces of Carabaya y Sandia) and it has a surface of 1 043 998 02 hectares. Together with the National Park of Manu, this two areas the most studied on the Peruvian Amazon. 575 types of birds, 1,200 types of butterflies, 103 types of dragonflies and 135 types of ants live in he area. Likewise there are 103 types al mammals 60 types of amphibious, 67 types of reptiles (among then we can see snakes, turtles, crocodiles and lizards) and 94 types of fishes.

We can also find animal in danger of extinction such as the river wolf (Pteronura brasiliensis), the wild dog (Speothos venaticus), the black alligator (Melanosuchus niger) and the aguila (eagle) harpía (Harpiya harpiyja).

Among the main purposes of this reserved area we can let you know the following ones: the preservation of the wild flora and fauna, as well as the protection, conservation and preservation of the natural resources,another goal is to protect lands in danger of erosion in ardes to make sure they will keep producing food; to reach this goal it is necessary to follow three steps:

1) Keep the existing ecological processes;
2) preserve the diversity in flora and fauna and
3) Keep and use the resources of the area continuously.
