PERU NATIONAL
RESERVED
The
main purpose of the National Reserves is the conservation of the
biological diversity and makes a good use of the aquatic and ground wild
flora and fauna.
National Reserves are: Pacaya Samiria, Calipuy, Salinas y
Aguada Blanca, Titicaca, Paracas, Junin, Pampas Galeras

The National Reserve of Pampa
Galeras This reserve makes up of 6500 hectares which own to the peasant
community Lucanas located in the department of Ayacucho, province and
district of Lucanas.This weedy place
is made up of Festuca tree (Stipa ichu, Calamagrostis sp)., the Tola (Lepidophyllum
quadrangulare) and the Senecio sp. and the quishuar (Buddleja sp.)

Vicuñas (Vicugna)

The vicuna (Vicugna vicugna) is the most representative in
Pampa Galeras and the purpose of this reserve is to protect
these animals we can also find the Guanaco (Lama guanicoe),
which live free in the pampas.
The most impressive bird is the andean Condor (Vultor
gryphus), we can see the pissaca (Nothoprocta ornata) and
the Kiula (Tinamotis penhaldii) as well. |
With regard to
the birds, we can find the pato jerga (Anas georgica) and the pato sutro
(Anas flavirosatris). The main purpose of this Reserve is to protect the
vicuna and promote the development of the population settled there.
